Information My Mem handles
Your memory content
Content you choose to save, including notes, links, titles, descriptions, tags, photos, screenshots, audio recordings, transcriptions, OCR text, lists, collections, and related metadata.
Default: stored locally on your device.
Optional iCloud sync
If you turn on iCloud sync, your memories and their media are stored in your private CloudKit database so they can stay in sync across your Apple devices. Apple processes this data under your Apple Account and Apple's terms.
Optional cloud AI
If you consent to and enable cloud AI, My Mem may send the content needed for that memory, such as text, OCR, a transcription, a compressed image, a URL, or content retrieved from a public webpage, to My Mem's secure processing service and its AI provider. This is used to create summaries, categories, tags, dates, and searchable details.
Before enrichment, the submitted content is checked by OpenAI's moderation service for prohibited material. Requests that appear to contain sexual content, sexual content involving minors, illicit instructions, threats, graphic violence, or instructions for self-harm may be rejected. Repeated violations may temporarily disable cloud AI for that app installation. The memory can still be saved on your device.
My Mem's gateway is designed not to log memory bodies, images, URLs, or public webpage content, and does not keep that content after processing the response. The current managed AI provider is OpenAI. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default and may be retained for up to 30 days for service delivery and abuse monitoring, unless a different retention control applies. If you choose a direct provider in a testing configuration and enter your own API key, that provider's policy applies to those requests.
Security and abuse-prevention data
When cloud AI is used, My Mem processes an App Attest identifier and signed request data to verify that the request comes from a genuine copy of the app. The gateway also processes the network address needed to secure and rate-limit the request, then uses a one-way hash rather than logging the raw address.
Operational records may include a pseudonymous installation identifier, request identifier, usage and cost estimates, rejection reason, moderation category, violation count, and suspension state. These records do not include the submitted memory content.
Permissions you choose
My Mem may ask for access to selected photos, the microphone, speech recognition, notifications, or Face ID. These permissions are used only for the feature you request and can be changed in iOS Settings.
Purchases
Apple handles subscription payment details. My Mem receives subscription status and transaction information needed to unlock and restore access, not your full payment-card details.
Support messages
If you contact support, we receive the information you include in your email. It is used to respond to you and resolve the issue.
This website
This website uses Umami Cloud to count page visits and a small set of named clicks, such as opening TestFlight or contacting support. Umami does not set tracking cookies or build advertising profiles. We do not send names, email addresses, memory content, or message text through website analytics. Umami and the hosting provider may process limited technical information needed to produce aggregate statistics and to deliver and secure the site.
How information is used
My Mem uses information only to provide the features you choose, authenticate and rate-limit cloud AI requests, detect prohibited use, control service costs, keep the app reliable and secure, answer support requests, process subscription access, and comply with legal obligations. My Mem does not use third-party advertising trackers.
Sharing and service providers
Information is shared only when needed for a feature you enable or when required by law. Relevant providers include Apple for CloudKit, App Attest, and App Store purchases; OpenAI for optional cloud AI and moderation; Render for hosting the secure AI gateway and its protection records; Cloudflare for delivering this website; and Umami Cloud for website analytics. We require service providers to protect personal information consistently with this policy and applicable law and to process it only for the requested service.
Retention and deletion
- Local content: remains on your device until you delete it, delete all data in My Mem, or remove the app and its data.
- iCloud content: remains in your private CloudKit database until it is deleted through My Mem. When sync is on, deletion is sent to your other devices and iCloud.
- Cloud AI content: My Mem's gateway processes it transiently and does not store it after processing the response. OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days under its standard abuse-monitoring retention, unless a different retention control applies or longer retention is legally required.
- Security records: attested installation keys and revocation records are kept while needed to protect the service. Rate-limit, usage, budget, and violation counters expire automatically according to their enforcement periods. Infrastructure logs are retained only as reasonably needed for security and operations.
- Support email: kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain support history, or meet legal obligations.
Your choices
- Turn on Local-only mode to disable iCloud sync and cloud AI.
- Decline cloud AI consent, or turn off Cloud AI processing later, while continuing to save and use local features.
- Turn iCloud sync on or off from Settings in My Mem.
- Prepare a portable JSON export from Settings.
- Delete a memory at any time, or use Delete all data in Settings.
- Revoke Photos, Microphone, Speech Recognition, Notifications, or Face ID access in iOS Settings.

Children
My Mem is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app.
Security
My Mem uses safeguards designed to protect information, including Apple App Attest for cloud AI requests, encrypted HTTPS connections, rate limits, and restricted operational logs. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of personal information, or to object to certain processing. My Mem does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Email privacy@my-mem.app to make a request. We may need enough information to verify and fulfill it.
Changes to this policy
If My Mem's data practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date will change. Material changes may also be communicated in the app.
